Usama Young Goes Back to School
This week, the Usama Young Youth Foundation kicked off the “Prince George’s Goes to College Week” at his alma mater Largo High School in Upper Marlboro, MD. Usama continued his “Chalk Talk” series, by speaking to students about the importance of setting goals, hard work and preparing for their futures. Chalk Talk appearances were also held at Kettering Middle School, Central High School and the NACAC National College Fair all located in Prince George’s. |

Usama Young to serve as ambassador for "Prince George's Goes to College Week", April 11-15, 2011 in partnership with the National Association for College Admissions Counselors and the Prince George's County Public School System.
The Prince George's County Public Schools' National College Fair will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 9:30am – 1:00pm, and from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, MD. Sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and hosted by the Potomac & Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC), this event is free and open to the public.

Get On the Bus with Usama Young
Get on the bus with Usama Young of the New Orleans Saints and the Usama Young Youth Foundation (UYYF) for College Tour 2010-2011. Usama will sponsor 150 tenth and eleventh grade students from high schools in the Prince George's County Public School System on a tour of Morgan State University and Towson State University.
The objective of the field trip is to give students an interactive opportunity to learn how to prepare for the college admissions process. Presentations will include navigating through the application and financial aid process, preparing for on-site interviews and topical discussions ranging from collegiate academics, socialization and healthy living habits. Students will have the opportunity to get assistance from university staff and members of the Prince George's County Public School System on creating a college planning portfolio.
Accompanying Usama are his NFL colleagues Derrick Williams of the Detroit Lions and teammate Jermon Bushrod of the New Orleans Saints.
